CHÂTEAU DE CHANTILLY

CHÂTEAU DE CHANTILLY

This month in Paris we probably had one of the worst snow storms and it lasted well over a week! Naturally it melted in the city (most probably thanks to the pollution!) however not far out in the suburbs it was time to enjoy a winter wonderland. What better time than to visit Château de Chantilly with its stunning scenery and beautiful fairytale backdrop!Arriving at Château de Chantilly, blankets of snow lay glistening as the sun beamed down upon the manor. The Château was surrounded by a lake frozen over and with thick snow to stomp through we made our way up through the front gates. Inside was just as beautiful and the Musée Condé is definitely one to see for art enthusiasts!I have compiled a selection of photos from our visit. Hope you enjoy!

Getting to Château de Chantilly

Take the train from Gare du Nord towards Compèigne or Amiens. Tickets are €8.70 each way and it will take around 25 minutes. If you have a Navigo pass, unfortunately it will not cover the journey. When you arrive at the train station, follow the signs to Château de Chantilly and it's about a 20-25 minute walk. There is also the option to take the bus.Even with the easy access from Paris, it is not nearly as popular as Versailles. In fact, during our visit it felt as though we pretty much had the place to ourselves and roamed freely around the gardens.
