WHERE TO NEXT... TRAVEL PLANS JULY 2018 AND ONWARDS
"Where in the world are you today?"
"What's your next destination?"
I woke up this morning to a friend's kind words of excitement! I've been busy planning but most of all deciding on my next route, which as easy as it might sound, it really isn't! When you can choose anywhere to go in the world, funnily enough, it can become quite overwhelming to make a decision.
It's July and summer in Europe. Perhaps I'll spend a month in Greece on a sailing trip and wander the cobbled streets of Santorini.
But wait... I reaaally want to go back to south-east Asia. Why not start in Japan?!
Hold up! Isn't Colombia on my list? But is it really safe enough for me to go on a solo trip to South America?!
So back and forth I've gone, until waking up one morning and saying to myself, right. "I'm going to Bogota today!"
"If the flight prices have dropped by £200 or more, I will definitely book!"An unlikely scenario, nevertheless I casually reached over my bedside table and opened up my laptop.Right... Bogota. Let's search for a random date in a couple of weeks.Baaam... the flight prices were the cheapest I had seen! I couldn't believe it! They were at least £400 less than what I had seen the day before!! Still in shock, I grabbed my glasses. Yup... there were the tickets!!
Then crept in that annoying procrastination monkey. Maybe we should just think about this for a minute OR TWO! Do you really want to start your trip in Colombia? Have you researched this enough? What about Greece?
Eight hours later and after much procrastination, I checked again...The flight was back to its normal price. I had missed the chance! Perhaps it was an error fare, but either way, it was now too expensive for me to warrant paying for a one-way ticket to Colombia. My heart sank.Realising now I reaaaally want to go to South America, I frantically started searching for every destination I could think of in Central and South America.
How about Peru? £800. Nope.
Santiago?
Woooah, nope!
Buenos Aires??Wooah, that's cheap! Flights starting at just £300 one-way!
So guess what?! I'll be heading out to Buenos Aires and starting a tour of South America!!! I know I wanted to step foot into Colombia and do more of Asia, but perhaps my procrastination was for the better!I'll be switching up my shorts for extra layers (it's winter in the southern hemisphere July!) and exploring the 'Paris of South America' and then who knows!Here is currently how my trip looks. Much different from my original route!
